The Clever Mind of Nikola Tesla There aren’t many inventors whose inventions and ideas have generated technology advances for decades after their lifetime. Many of the technologies that are being used today were thought up by Tesla and he is revered as a genius ahead of his time. Albert Einstein was once asked what it’s like to be the smartest man alive and he replied,” I don’t know, you’ll have to Ask Nikola Tesla.” Tesla was a revolutionary inventor and scientist who came up with many inventions in the field of electricity and magnetism including the idea to use the sun as a free energy resource, and inventing the Alternating Current (AC) integral to the development of modern technology. Nikola Tesla was born in 1856 in Smiljan, Austria. …show more content…
He researched the harnessing and redistribution of light from the ionosphere. He explored ideas about wireless communications including the ability to transmit images, messages and text which is now possible today thanks to Tesla. One of Tesla’s most notable ideas is that of free limitless energy. “ Ere many generations pass our machinery will be driven by a power obtainable at any point in the universe.” (Tesla). He had an idea to provide free electricity throughout the Earth without using any wires or meters. It is said that this invention “would be in service to humanity, as well as, advance mankind well into a new future” (Unaris). Tesla’s idea would have enabled us to do many things that we’re not able to do even in today’s times. It would have been 100% green with absolutely no harm to the environment and a renewable resource because the energy comes from the sun. Unfortunately his idea was too advanced for his time. His invention would have completely eliminated the need for fossil fuels like oil and coal, which meant that big businesses didn’t invest in his idea because it would have lost them money. Recently there has been a resurgence of interest in this idea and people have been able to come up with their own smaller versions of Tesla’s Free Energy
