July of 1856, a boy was born around midnight during a lightning storm. The midwife thought it was a bad omen and said ¨This will be a child of darkness.¨ The mother refuted, saying ¨No. He will be a child of light.¨ This baby that was born was Nikola Tesla, the inventor who electrified our world with his innovative alternating current motor. He was an immigrant from Croatia, moving to the US where he spent most of his life. His alternating current invention does many things for us in our daily lives, solving the problem of only using DC, or direct current.
