In the Lord of the Flies, Golding places young, British, private school boys on an island to fend for themselves. The young boys are stuck on an island after a plane crash, while heading to a safe location and are left alone without any adults to guide them through survival. At first, the boys are enjoying life without parents, but later realize there is no power or order. Jack, the chorister of the school's choir is naturally a leader and ultimately wants the power of the group. Ralph, who found a conch shell is voted leader.
How would Lord of the Flies be different if girls took part in the storyline? Lord of the Flies is a book about school boys that crashed on an island, and are now stuck. The boys are ruthless and have interesting “manners”. The girls would be more polite, try to less dirty, but be more moody. There is more stuff to say about these girls and their actions.
Based on the results of the Milgram Experiment and basic human nature, the story of Lord of The Flies would not have changed if girls had been stranded on the island instead of boys. My first piece of evidence comes from the Milgram experiment in which subjects were given the role as a teacher. Every Time one of their students said a wrong answer, they were to give them a shock with increasing voltage with each wrong answer. One of the important things that was noted in the TED talk was that women were as willing to go to the maximum voltage as the men were. This means that in general, women are as likely to use the full extent of their power as men are.
Could you imagine a bunch of young boys on an island by themselves? Picture naked boys running around everywhere. The boys would be looking around frantically for food. The young boys would have to become hunters to survive the starvation. Lord of The Flies shows how chaotic something like this could turn out.
The novel Lord of the Flies written by William Golding tells the story of a plane that crashes out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean which kills all of the passengers on it, with the exception of a group of young boys who are left stranded on an island. With no adults to guide them, they are left to fend for themselves as they try to survive and find a way to get off the island. As the boys try to figure what they are going to do and how they will survive they will be faced with many tough decisions that someone their age would ever normally have to make. Along with being scared the choices, they make and the events that occur because of these choices eventually lead to the tragedies and deaths on the island towards the end of the novel.
Since the boys in Lord of the Flies were trapped on the island because of a plane crash, they were forced to survive. Their survival is mainly the moral and focus of the story. In chapter two of the novel, the boys try to start a fire and that fire burned down the mountaintop, habitats, homes of the animals that live there. By the end the mountaintop burning, the boys did not realize that one of their friend was in the fire and that friend was one of the ‘littluns’. In chapter twelve of the novel, the remainder of the boys that are not dead are in tribes.
In Golding’s novel, there are various recurring themes throughout the novel and the concept of Fear of the Unknown leads to progressively worse outcomes. Golding utilizes the fear on the Island to allow the reader to comprehend how the boys' ability to think logically deteriorates throughout the novel. Furthermore, the introduction of the fear of the beast is forcing the boys to forget what it is like living in civil society and also is causing the boys
If girls were in The Lord Of The Flies they groups would be more organized, they would have been less savage, and they would have been able to maintain life on the island. Throughout the entire book the boys on the island had a huge problem with organization. The were unable to have a leader that they could constantly keep and follow, and on top of that the boys were put in social classes based on age not ability . If girls were on this island there would be some sense of togetherness and organization.
This event in the book shows how fear and the evil that lives inside everyone can overcome one's morals and control oneself. “Simon's dead body moved out toward the open sea.” (PG187) The boys all contributed towards Simon’s death and left him to float out to sea. In conclusion, William Golding’s “Lord of the Flies” could have been significantly changed if he had decided to include female characters.

The novel Lord of the Flies is about a group of schoolboys who are stranded on an unknown island and their journey of how they try to survive, but fail. The story lacks any real female character. But why? There no complete answer to this question, but I think it is because in the story the boys learn the a few lessons such as: responsibility, maturity, and respect. "The world, that understandable and lawful world, was slipping away" The boys had challenges and unfortunately not everyone survived.
