No Name is a line of generic grocery manufactured by Loblaw Company Limited. That being said, No Name is widely available within Canada and one of Canada’s largest food retailer. With that being said, No Name launched 16 generic products on March 21, 1978 with basic yellow and black packaging. Loblaw’s intent was to create inexpensive products that are commonly found within grocery stores. In addition to that, Loblaw soley believed in developing products that are of value and excellent quality at a low price. In pursuit of their initial launch, Loblaw opened No Frills with the intention to feature the No Name brand as the main merchandise within No Frills. That being said, the opening proved to be a success, as many consumers purchased products from the brand. To this day, No Name is a commonly purchased item within Canada.
The particular product that we selected within the No Name line was cheetos. The packaging was a basic yellow background with black typography. The quality of the No Name products are moderate, considering that the quality of the food are inferior. The intent of the product is to essentially mimick brand name products, therefore production is relatively low in price. As far as pricing, No Name products are inexpensive compared to brand names, such as Cheetos.
