One of the negative interaction that my character has with another character is that Ponyboy and Darry don’t along and each other. This causes them to get mad at each other as well as getting into many heated debates and battles. This is very common in the book because Ponyboy thinks that Darry doesn’t care and this affects his mental health. When people don’t listen and make Ponyboy mad by saying he doesn’t use his head, this makes him very irritated and mad. At the church when he is alone Ponyboy is scared and those things affects his mental health because he thinks that nobody cares about him while his friends and his brothers really care about him. Another negative interaction that a character has with another one is Ponyboy with Soda’s friend named Steve. In the start of the book Ponyboy explains his mistrust and how he doesn’t like Steve. In the book it explains that Ponyboy only likes Steve because he is soda’s friend. This relates to Parravin’s book called ‘No Safe Place.’ In his story it talks about a boy named that is very sneaky and mistrust worthy and how the main character doesn’t really like the boy. This is the same with Ponyboy’s interaction with Steve and his interaction with the main character. Even though Ponyboy and Johnny are friends, Ponyboy had a negative interaction with Johnny. When Cherry asked about Darry Ponyboy said he is mean and doesn’t care, late Johnny says that Ponyboy has got it all wrong and he does care about him. Instead Ponyboy says at least I am wanted at my house. This effects Johnny’s mental health because he thinks that he can still be happy even with a bad family, however he is reminded of the bad parents that he has.
