Charles Dickens is the author of A Christmas Tree. He also wrote many other wonderful stories, some being The Tale of Two Cities, The Frozen Deep, No Thoroughfare and The Goblins. Charles Dickens was born on February 7, 1812 in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. When Dickens was only 12 years old his father was sent to prison for debt in 1824. After his father went away Dickens was removed from school and forced to work in place of his father. Charles was distraught that his childhood was ripped away from him so soon. He often said he felt betrayed by the adult figures in his life who were supposed to be taking care of him.
