Abortion. That simple word can start a debate, a fight even but it can also end a relationship between 2 people. I, myself have witnessed firsthand the way people defend themselves, as I am on the pro choice side. Put into a short sentence...abortion is a very controversial topic. And here’s why, and my personal beliefs on this subject, including facts, opinions, references, and other things.

Roe v. Wade. This is a well known court case about Norma McCorvey, under the alias Jane Roe and her request to get an abortion. McCorvey had lived in Texas during her life, and under Texas’s previous law, abortion was illegal, with the exception of if it were to save the woman’s life. This case, however, went against this law. McCorvey had requested to get an abortion because she felt as if her life would have ruined the child’s life; McCorvey had been, under her words, unemployable, and very, very depressed. …show more content…

If this embryo/fetus would grow up to be a living, breathing human being, then this person can become, in simple slang, “pretty messed up”.

What I mean by this statement is that he/she could eventually self harm, have a birth defect (McCorvey had a drinking problem in her life, a few years prior to this whole abortion fiasco) known as FAS, or Fetal Alcohol System. Because of McCorvey’s issue of unemployment, drinking, even domestic abuse, could have rendered this child, well….severely depressed.
