1959 movie goers were gifted with Alfred Hitchcock’s latest feature film, North by Northwest. Hitchcock has become one of the most influential auteurs to live, causing a major impact on how cinema has involved. The master of suspense thought for the art he loved, fighting against censorship in parts of his movie. (Robb, 2010) Hitchcock adored suspense and mystery, implementing it into the art form he had such a passion form. His made hits including 1954’s Rear Window, 1958’s Vertigo and his most notorious film Psycho (IMDb, 2016).Hitchcock formed a unique style which has made him such a big success, delving into mystery and thriller of a movie plot. Hitchcock has stated “To make a great film you need three things- the Script, the script and the script.” (A-Z Quotes, n.d.)He presented this to us in North by Northwest taking the viewer on a journey. The story opens introducing us to the charming protagonist Roger Thornhill played by the talented Cary Grant (Notorious, 1946). When Roger is mistaken for informant government agency, he is almost murdered by the ruthless antagonist, Phillip Vandamm played by the late James Mason (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, 1954). The story escalates to a cross country adventure, with our hero witnessing a murder at the united nations, almost being murdered by a vicious crop duster and scaling the great monument of Mount Rushmore. But every great thriller needs a love interest, this is no exception. Eve Kendall played by the stunning Eva Marie Saint (On the water front, 1954), is a mysterious blonde who is hiding a big secret from our hero. In this twisted plot Roger must decide who to trust and who to keep an eye on, to survive from the ruthless
