Nosferatu (2015) was a psychological horror that was directed by James Beale, which used music throughout to tell the story. It was performed at the Lawrence Batley Theatre on the 21st October. The performance was written by Ian Mcmillian who portrayed themes of mental states and relationships throughout the performance. As the actors of the production, Tim Cunningham, Brendan Weakliam and Rick Ferguson portrayed the sailors that are featured in Bram Stokers Dracula as they travel from Varna to Whitby, with mysterious unknown cargo.

Nosferatu contained many elements that were key to creating the production. A key element that was present was the use of sound. The use of sound and music can help to create atmosphere in a production. The production of Nosferatu used music to help present the story. All music that was used in the production was performed live on the stage. Anna Scott was a cellist that was based on the edge of the stage, all music she played was live as was her singing. To accompany the live cello music, the actors themselves sung throughout the production. Most music that was created by the actors was that of folk songs and synchronised chanting. Lighting was used throughout the production to highlight changes in how the set was used. The light in the cabin changed when the area of the ship changed. When the cabin was used as the captains' quarters, the light would be a neutral glow. Whereas, when the mysterious cargo on the ship was being shown the light would turn red and shine up through the top of the cabin. During the crescendo of the production there was a sudden blackout and strobe lights were used to highlight the reveal of the vampire. During the final scene of the production, lighting was used to create a sunset on the backdrop of the theatre through the use of colour
