Internal Memory
RAM (Random Access Memory) and ROM (read Only Memory) falls into two categories of Internal Memory.
Sometimes internal memory is also called the ‘Primary Storage Device’.
The processor can directly access the internal memory.
RAM
Random Access Memory (RAM) is used to store temporary information. The processor is able to read and write data in and out from the RAM.
Circuit boards containing memory chips to store data are used to make processors to get data from the RAM.
Even through RAM is fast, it is not reliable and unstable memory as there is a possibility of losing stored data when the computer is turned off or loses power. Therefore to overcome, more RAM is introduced in the computers. Figure 3 RAM
ROM
The difference between RAM and the ROM (Read Only Memory) is significant. RAM stores information temporary but ROM is used to store information permanently.

The BIOS (Basic Input/output system) of a computer holds all the information about the components connected to it.

Video Card
The video card or the Graphics cards main function is to display images on the computer.
GPU (Graphical Processing Unit) is the latest form of the video card which acts as a separate processer that processes graphics.
Now a day’s all motherboards are manufactured with integrated graphics controlled by the processor and RAM.
There are various types of slots based on the motherboard type which are listed below.
The video card is plugged into a one of the slot in the motherboard.

Input Devices
Devices that helps to enter raw data into the computer system are called input devices.
