In this section of the presentation I will be talking about anti-virus, the first one I will be talking about is firewall this is a software or a hardware based system that is made to block access from a network. This is used in most network as a line of defence to try and stop bad packets entering the network and cause harm to the network. After the proxy looks at the packets if some of the packs can damage the network it has to be further looked out. The good things about proxy firewall is that there will be no connection between trusted and untrusted PC. This is a lot more secure more compared packet filtering firewall. The bad thing about this proxy firewall is that there may be problems with the performance. The third type of firewall I will be talking about is Packet filtering firewall, if you didn’t know it is the first kind firewall to be made, what it does is watches the entire data that runs throw the network. This firewall rejects and accepts data by the set of rules. What the rules are called is ACL this gives the text to the packet filter so it know what data can go through or what data can’t go through. The good thing about this type of firewall is that you can personalise so it can work on different protocols. Another good thing about this type of firewall is that it can work at a fast pace for a long time because they are not application-dependant and they don’t have to do extra processing to the data packets.
