Nucleocapsid Summary

To analyze the dynamics of nucleocapsids (NC) in replication, live-cell imaging is studied as a possible method to express. This method will allow scientist to get a better understanding of the significance of the nucleocapsids through fluorescent labeling. Through reverse genetic systems allows virus like Marburg and Ebola proteins to be expressed. However there have been cases that's difficult to see filo viral nucleocapsid properly due to its limited size. Researchers hypothesized that the VP30 an essential protein and a structural component can allow visualization of NC (Schudt et al., 2013).
Scientists were curious about where NC became linked with VP40 a matrix protein. Since VP40 has the ability to suppress the Marburg replication, …show more content…

The most commonly used test is called Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay or ELSA testing which is a highly sensitive and accurate that uses the components responsible for the immune system to see if the immune system is responding properly. The test contains an Antigen-capturing enzyme that detect mainly proteins however the test can successfully detect hormones, foreign antigens and antibodies. They are different ways that ELSA test can be performed, the most essential way of conducting the test is basically attaching an antigen to an antibody. The antibody favors a specific substance that it wants to be attached to and if the substance is attached to the antibody chances are that the patient is infected (Med. Net, …show more content…

The blood specimens collected were put at a temperature at −80°C. The samples from the patients were moved to more established laboratories that can work on fatal agents. The results of the agents collected revealed that that the contagiousness was fairly low there were only a few cases that was recorded for secondary infection. Rudolf Siegert and Hsin Lu Shu continued with the Guinea pigs by the third passage the animals have completely exhibit all the symptoms such as fever and hepatitis and eventually died later. Nonetheless, they weren’t able to detect the agent precisely but the results of the experiments were groundbreaking and proved that the virus can be passed and have similar effects from one individual to another (Slenczka, Klenk
