Nucor Corporation earned strong brand image in local and international both steel industries, because of providing high quality and safest steel to the end customer. Nucor Corporation enjoys huge economies of scale because it purchases huge metal scrap and produce quality steel products and deliver to the customer at low cost. Weakness: Nucor Corporation bears high shipping expense because most of the steel production sells outside the United States. Nucor Corporation performs its operation at one line of production and does not have product diversification, so Nucor Corporation earned revenues based on only steel products. The major portion of steel products revenue earned by sales in the United States, so the company direct effects if any economic crisis arises in the United States. Nature of the external environment surrounding the company: The threat of new entrant is low because there are only a few companies exist in steel industry which has high technical plants, and new entrant needs to have a huge capital investment in term of cash and machinery
