Interview #11: Gina (patient), first ad = IYW Background: Gina was diagnosed with Parkinson’s two years ago. She wondered “is this menopause? Am I dehydrated? Maybe I’m stressed or anxious.” Nervous and embarrassed, Gina kept her hallucinations a secret from her family for a month before deciding to open up about her health and making an appointment with the doctor. The diagnosis of Parkinson’s was a “complete shock” to Gina and her family, but together they employ a “mind over matter mentality” to help them cope. Julie is his primary caretaker and stopped working in order to take care of him full-time.
