Nursing can be characterized as an empathetic, holistic, and challenging career. Throughout the years nursing has become a growing occupation. Nursing is about benevolence and attempting to interpret human beings on tangible, emotional, and scientific stages. Nursing is more than just taking care of the life of an individual. there is much more to nursing than what others think. While there is an abundant amount of options when it comes to nursing, being a registered nurse or a nurse anesthetist is where my heart lies. To begin, being a registered nurse comes with a lot more duties than one would think. Registered nurses doing everything from assessing patients, create care plans for patients, to working independently while collaborating with a team all at the same time. While this career is not as fast paced as being a registered nurse, it requires an individual who is willing and capable of taking on such demanding responsibilities. Knowing that I am there to care for that patient from beginning to end is what pulls me in. I am the type of person who likes to finish something that they started. While I am not in this occupational field for the money, the annual salary that a nurse anesthetic is satisfying. Another aspect I am intrigued by with being a nurse anesthetist is the various types of work environments. There is just such an abundant amount of options. It is nice knowing that if I get sick of a certain work environment I can pick up and go to a different environment.
