Final Paper Introduction: Ever since I was in high school I aspired to become a physician assistant(PA). Throughout my academic journey, this career path has captivated my interest. I have been interested in becoming a PA since I was in high school, but it was not until recently that I decided that the specialization I like to explore more depth is cardiology. Since the beginning of the class PA was my chosen career and I have remained steadfast in my pursuit of becoming a physician assistant. Calvin Neal Exploring a Health Career: Physician Assistant Ever since my cousin Paul, whom I’ve always looked up to, went to college and became a PA, I’ve wanted to follow in his footsteps. The definition of a physician assistant is “someone qualified to assist a physician and carry out routine clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician.” However, physician assistants can be so much more than that. They work in numerous fields such as pediatrics, obstetrics, orthopaedics, and with several health care providers such as nurses, surgeons, and physicians.
Being an LPN was one of the milestones for me to become an RN. As a student right now I will follow the same path as I did as an LPN because it was effective for me, as a result I was able to complete the course and obtain my LPN license . As a parent, a student, I had to take into consideration the well being of my family while I was trying to become a nurse. Since nursing was my career goal, I had found ways to balance family and school. As a student I know the importance of studying and completing school works in a timely manner.
I am a firm believer that in order to be happy and successful, you need to have a job that you love to do. This ideology is what motivated me to want to become a nurse practitioner and help the people in my community. Attending California State University, Los Angeles is allowing me to pursue my academic goal of getting into the nursing program. I aspire to get my bachelors of science in nursing to be able to become a registered nurse. After gaining experience as a registered nurse, I will pursue a master of science in nursing to become a nurse practitioner.
My Intent to Be a Nurse Practitioner Coming from a third world country where there aren’t many opportunities for work and funding for education, proceding to nursing school was a grand opportunity. The privilege to attend a government subsidized school where top students in the region compete to get into the program that allowed only 60 students per year was indeed a blessing. As clinical rotations began, what was once considered a mere opportunity evolved into a true passion for caring as I truly love and enjoy nursing and helping people.
My Future Career, Nurse Practitioner A nurse practitioner is a nurse with a graduate degree in advanced practice nursing. When I was little I always said I wanted to become a nurse practitioner. It was something about being able to help patients overcome their illnesses that interested me the most.
Some people can look at a nursing program and see that it would be a two or four year commitment, me personally, I believe that it will become a lifelong commitment. I have been looking for multiple colleges to become a nurse, but I always come back to thinking that I want to get in and get it done already. To become a CNA I had to be dedicated to go to the classes, labs, and clinicals. During that time I was going to a community college and had to balance everything and also stay on top of homework and my studies. It was truly hard work, but I made it through.
I got interested in the medical field because I found it fascinating and I wanted to learn more about it. I want to become a doctor. I'm still undecided on which type of medical professions that I want to pursue, but I still have more time to think about it before
I have a heart for service and a strong desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Why do I want to become a nurse? Nursing, the one job everyone says that is so fulling, and will change your perspective on the world forever. I wanted to be a nurse since the time I was 10 years old, because I saw what they do for others every day.
