What career do you want and why? In years down the road, I see myself as a Registered Nurse, but not just any typical Emergency Room nurse. In my view of nursing, the sight of a man running up to me with his leg only hanging by a few ligaments of muscle is my version of nightmare. Also having doctors shouting orders at me in an emergency situation is a recipe for disaster in my case. My view on nursing is playing a leading role in geriatrics. At first, I thought about labor and delivery and it’s still there in the back of my mind but the sound of kids crying sort of makes me want to scream. As working as a certified nurse aide in geriatrics for roughly two years I've had my fair share of dying patients. This is what sparked my interest in hospice care. However I have just as much as a chance finding a job in a midsized city such as San Angelo as I would in a bigger city. The only difference would be the pay. An average salary for my job would be around $65,000 to $72,000. The salary however depends on the company and their census at the time. For example, working in home health, your salary isn't guaranteed. If you only see five patients in one day, you only get paid for those five patients, most hospitals and other facilities pay hourly and not salary.
