My entire life has changed due to my kindness. Therefore, should I no longer be kind? Why offer my assistance to others if the outcome is penalization? These questions torment my mind; do I acknowledge what's happening around me, or should I just drive by? All I wanted to do was help people, and now, all I do is suffer.
Based on the case study on pages 36-37 of our text and looking at the individual and financial needs of Don and Mary, I feel that they should both live in Assisted Living Facilities. According to our textbook, Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) provides assistance and supervision of activities of daily living for 24-hour. When I picture myself, I have faced many challenges in my life and realized how much i’ve grown and changed from them, just in the last year. The most important challenge that I am proud of myself for accomplishing is becoming a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA). Obtaining this certificate was a huge step in my life from childhood to adulthood. I became an LNA because my mother encouraged me to since she knew I always wanted to be a nurse ever since I was a child and I love helping other people out.
The primary reason I volunteer for the Red Cross is my immense appreciation for helping people. Aiding people (from simply writing a “Happy Birthday” card for a fellow volunteer, to helping a blood donor with directions,) has always imbued me with gratification, a fulfillment I seldom receive in everyday life. It warms my heart to see a stranger smile, and say “thank you”, leaving me with a feeling of elation. Although the care and effort of entering data and pictures in cards isn’t directly acknowledged by the receiver, the thought of brightening someone’s day or making someone’s life easier is extremely gratifying. In addition, my pursuit of embarking in a career in healthcare has motivated me to volunteer for Red Cross.

The person that is volunteering should want to make a difference in someone 's life, not be there because they are
Ever since God made man, volunteering has been in existence. Volunteering is the act of helping others, for no bounty, when the person is not able to help themselves. Volunteers have pleasing and compassionate hearts for the world and everyone in it, rich and poor. Though volunteering does not produce any compensation, it does leave the volunteer with a more fulfilled life. Volunteering is fantastic for one’s health, his or her career, an individual’s community, and its ability to open a door to save people from an eternity in hell.
The Reflection Over the course of the time I spent volunteering for Out Of The Cold, I feel that I have learnt many things. I feel that the time I spent volunteering helps me to live the life that God wants us to live. In the Bible, I have seen many messages about how God wants us to live. But the most prominent one would probably be to treat others the way you would like to be treated.
A positive environment with people who provide emotional guidance and support creates a homey atmosphere where older volunteers can reach their full potential. This nurse never saw that those actions towards my mother completely changed where I wanted to go in life. Going forward I knew I would want to get out of administration and become a nurse. I wanted to provide that same unforgettable care for someone else 's loved one at the darkest of times like that one nurse did for my family. This life can be chaotic at times, all of us do not realize how our actions can spread like the ripples from skipping a rock on a lake. Navigating through this life is tough but in the end, each of us can change someone 's perspective for good and at times bad.
Volunteering is a way of helping others. It is giving a person 's time and ability to help someone who may be in need of help. Not only does volunteering help others, but what they may not know is that it can be helpful to themselves. It is a great way for someone to interact with others in their community. It gives someone that time to themselves while also creating bonds when they are doing the greater good.
