I have always admired nurses and wanted to be one since my adolescence. At the age of 10 my mother died of depression. I did not really experience the love and care most people had and I would not want anyone to go through that. Losing my mother solidified my desire for pursing nursing. It is a career that relates to the provision of care and treatment thus, an avenue to extend that which I never had but experienced from nurses alike. I want to be able to reach out to people in the same field, the elderly, and the sick. Nursing goes beyond administration of medicine but more of an art as to be able to communicate with various people and nationalities. That is, extending care with creativity, love and compassion. Nursing is more than a career of integrity but a privilege that will measure out my values and the responsibilities granted to me with the precious gift of life. …show more content…

I really enjoy it because the kids were so loving and adorable. I also shadowed how the nurses and doctors work together as a team to the care for their patient and the patient's family. Furthermore, I have a little insight in caring for a diabetic’s patient because I remember when my grandmother was diagnosis with type 1diabetes. I was the only one available to help her; I would monitor her blood glucose level, to see how much sugar is in her blood stream in order for me to identify what meal she should eat. These real live experiences in a clinical practice gave me a new perspective on the medical sector and confirmed to me that I had made the right career
