Athletic Director Bob Marcus has quite the challenge in allocating the athletic department funds appropriately throughout all the programs within Oakbend Senior High School. After critically analyzing the case study it was quite clear some sports such as football and girls basketball received much more funding compared to other sports such as cross country and track and field. Throughout this case brief an effective solution that is both fair and in line with the districts mission will be expanded on to assist Bob Marcus is making the necessary budget cuts to provide a successful athletic program in the future. Marcus needs to cut about $80,000 from the previous budget plan to accommodate the funding cuts made by the school. Before making any cuts to specific sport clubs or implementing a participation fee we decided to obey two explicit rules throughout the process of the budget revision. Every coach has their own opinion on what is important and what is not and this is why giving the coaches a chance to have a say is crucial in attempt to satisfying everyone. The total budget each team has will remain firm as there is no extra funding; if teams need more money they have the opportunity to utilize their specific booster programs to increase the total budget. The reallocated budget provided gives every sport a fair amount of money with relation to each participant so each student feels valued regardless of the sport they play. This budget uses exactly $311,997.60 of the $312,000 of funding provided ensure that the students and coaches are truly getting the most amount of money possibly at a fair rate. $348.28 per participant worked out perfectly to generate and efficient break-even budget that assisted in establishing ideal priorities and objectives for the Oakbend athletic
