The rate at which obesity is developing among children in the United States is alarming. Going by statistics provided by several professional bodies, particularly by the media and the medical experts obesity is undeniably becoming a grave health problem. Unfortunately, despite the gravity of the matter no solid measures have been instituted to curb the problem. Nobody is yet to take responsibility including the food companies who are the biggest contributors to this menace. The statistics offered regarding California are shocking. Being ranked position 17 out of 43 American states is something that should every other person. It is worth noting that children are the holders of the key to the future. Hence, when all indications show that every other initiative works towards putting their existence here on earth in jeopardy, people should begin worrying. Not all is lost yet, as concerned parties have taken the initiative of enlightening the masses about this social and health problem. In my opinion, the education program is an all-inclusive plans that outline the roles each partner would be play in the fight against obesity. By giving a precise timeline, it would be easy to assess the results arising out of this initiative. In four weeks time, positive results of the initiative can be ascertained. Besides, involving a health nutritionist and a fitness instructor in the implementation of the program was good move since they are the two crucial experts in matters physical fitness.
