50 years ago obesity was not a problem, but know it is one of the most cases that doctors and researchers are paying close attention to because it is becoming a growing threat. The continuing expansion of the nation’s waistline has pushed obesity to the top of the list of major health problems in the United States. In recent decades, the prevalence of obesity has increased dramatically in the United States, tripling among children and doubling among adults. Studies shows that Almost 13 million (16.9%) of U.S. children ages 2 to 19 are obese. unfortunately it is getting worst. The latest NHS figures show that a third of all 11-year olds are overweight or obese by the time they leave primary school. it is due to video games and children setting all the daylong staring at a screen playing virtual games for long hours. so instead of going out and playing physical games like football for example , and burn some calories , they set only. and that not only prevent burning calories but it leads to gain extra calories. Researchers found that teenage boys consumed an extra 80 calories after playing computer games for an hour compared to those who did not .it means that, not only are kids getting less exercise, they are eating more, causing the weight to pile on. likewise, the amount of physical activity that people engage in has been reduced by an increase in the use of new ways of living like cars and technology like TV. So people move less than what people did in the past. for instance , people used to walk when they wanted to go work or other houses but now they set in their cars and drive. and instead of going to the gym people spent lots of time watching
