Occupational Therapy: My Goals For The Future

My goals for the future revolve around what I believe will help both myself become successful, and also how the people around me will be positively influenced. As a caring, positive, helpful person, I have always dreamed of being an Occupational Therapist, and hopefully specializing in pediatrics in the future. At the University of Minnesota, I plan to take advantage of one of the greatest programs for Occupational Therapy in the nation. To get there, I plan on focusing on my studies in my undergraduate years by majoring in Psychology or something revolved around Rehabilitative Therapy. The community feel of the University of Minnesota adds to the face to face opportunities with many professionals and other students, which can help me future network. My future network would consist of alumni, professionals, and students all across Minnesota and also the nation. This would be extremely helpful to me as I attempt to find job and research opportunities, as well as knowing the important connections as I continue to work in the real world. Since I am very interested in giving back through volunteer work, the opportunities to work with my community in the future as I develop skills in helping others with wellness, health, and quality of life. To top all of these amazing tools the University offers me as a student, recent graduates from the Occupational Therapy program have had 100 percent job placement in many different settings. Fortunately, I would be able to have many choices on what to specialize in and where thanks to the many opportunities offered. As I am excited about receiving an education on campus, I am equally interested in the opportunity to study
