Final Reflection I vividly remember the say I left Oregon to attend occupational therapy school in Massachusetts. While it was exciting and fun to drive across the country and see many different places, I remember being terrified of what I was about to tackle in a completely new place with completely different people. Looking back, I now realized leaving home and coming to Massachusetts was one the best decisions I had to make. My journey in occupational therapy school taught me invaluable lessons in life. After my first year taking occupational therapy classes, I learned that occupational therapy is a multifaceted and extremely versatile field and that the possibilities are endless. I started learning more precise techniques and finally saw some evidenced-based treatment being applied. It solidified and extended the competencies and skills I acquired in the classroom and further broaden my perspective of occupational therapy practice. Moreover, having the chance to interact with clients gave me the chance to understand and apply theories and methods that were explored in class. Having the opportunity to be exposed in many different context enhanced my learning and strengthened my critical thinking skills. The field experience allowed me to have a deeper understanding of multiple diagnosis and how it impacts the person’s daily living. I also learned the importance of individualized treatment interventions and creating programs that are meaningful to the clients. During my level 1 fieldwork experience, I learned to develop health and wellness programs for seniors in an assisted living facility and program for children from all ages. I was able to apply my knowledge in activity analysis and look at the person through the lens to truly understand the person in order to provide the most suitable treatment.The clinical instructors were very skilled and knowledgeable. They provided us critical and timely feedback, which allowed us to improve our performance by reinforcing what we did right and further identified what needs to be done in the
