Julius Caesar, the famed Roman general and politician, was a figure who commanded respect and admiration from his contemporaries. Caesar’s motives were based on the advice from his companions and historical figures that had come before him. Many characters could be seen as potential heroes of Caesar. The first potential hero of Caesar is Gaius Octavius, also known as Augustus Caesar. After Caesar had been assassinated, Octavius was one of the key figures of the power struggle that had followed. He had ultimately become victorious in these endeavors and had been proclaimed the first Emperor of the Roman Empire. Octavius had been described as a skilled statesman and military leader that had oversaw a period of relative peace for Rome.
