Do people appreciate nature as they should? The earth has many different things to give us and we should appreciate it because we might need it in the real world. The earth has many different things we should appreciate like light and night. There are two texts that the readers can look off on that appreciate different things. One text is " Ode to enchanted light" and the other text is " Sleeping in the forest". They have many similarities and differences that will be compared and understood.

In the poem entitled" Sleeping in the forest" the author Mary Oliver is staying the night in the forest and the earth is having a hard time taking her back in. This poem is about Mary Oliver having a hard time in the forest with nature but she is learning how to deal with it. This poem is about Pablo appreciating light and how its shines very bright. This poem teaches you to appreciate what nature blesses you with and how amazing life would be if we appreciate it. This poem has a very bright meaning just like the light. This poem has similes and metaphors. This poem only has similes and metaphors and that is all.

In these two poems there are similarities like similes . In the poem entitled " Ode to enchanted light" the first stanza states" Light like a green latticework of branches". This is the simile in Ode to enchanted light it is a simile because it compares things with like or as. In the poem entitled" Sleeping in the forest it states" but my thoughts and they floated light as moths among the branches". The reader can infer that this is a simile because it is a comparison using the word like or as. These poems only have an simile in common they have many differences
