In Homer’s The Odyssey Odysseus goes on a journey to get back home from war. Along the way he goes through monsters, challenges, and obstacles that he has to face to make it back to reach his goal in the end. He has difficulties that change him as a person and how he reacts to events and points. This relates to me because even though both of our lives are different we have similarities. This is how that in Homer’s The Odyssey I relate to Odysseus because I will face challenges to become a successful adult.
During The Odyssey Odysseus runs into Poseidon, the god of the sea who told Odysseus he would never make it home. He proved him wrong in the end by making it home but he still was told that he would not make it. Like Odysseus I will face many people who tell me that I can’t go somewhere. This means that through everything he had done since the war to get home, he made it to the end and reach his goal that he wanted to achieve. This relates to my goal and reaching it because when I make it to the end of my goal I will look back at the so called monsters and the challenges that I went through to get to that point in time. Odysseus made it home to his wife and son but he still faced other challenges even through he was home he still had to face challenges. Completing a goal will always lead to another one that will take as much time to complete as the last one. Odysseus may have reached his home, but he still had to face the suitors who wanted to take his life. The suitors wanted to married to his wife which created another goal that he would have to complete to get be with his wife and son. There will be many goals in life that I will create that don’t relate to “The Odyssey” yet they will lead on from another
