Odysseus one of the greatest Greek heroes of the ancient world. The myths of Odysseus are told before and after the Trojan War. The Trojan War lasted 10 years. After the fall of Troy, it took Odysseus ten years to return back to his home. Everyone believed that Odysseus was dead, and his wife and son must deal with suitors. The men are all competing for Penelope's hand in marriage. Odysseus heroic traits are that he is persuasive and very intelligent. These two traits help him get back home.

Odysseus shows god like quality through his skills of pervasion. At one point, he out think the Cyclops Polyphemus by telling him his name was "nobody”. He then had his men hide under the sheep. They know he would let his sheep's out eventually, which leave the gates open for Odysseus and his men to escape the Cyclops. By being anonymous, Odysseus was able to save his mean and himself. Odysseus faces the suitors as a beggar to figure out what he will face when he finally takes his revenge out on those who infringe his household. At one point Odysseus as a beggar, found himself in a argument with one of the suitors. The suitors tossed a wooden chair at Odysseus, which strikes him in the upper body. Odysseus manifest great wisdom by shaking his head. Odysseus was just buying time to carefully plan a final revenge on all the suitors.

Odysseus demonstrated his heroic traits throughout his life. Odysseus was a compelling speaker. He makes qualities such as being a warrior or King feel realistic. Odysseus intelligence and pervasive heroic traits allowed him to survive long to return home and retake his kingdom. Odysseus had extraordinary accredit.
