Strengths, weaknesses and conflicts. These are the struggles the leader Odysseus has to face. He is a great leader and a great husband.
Odysseus has many strengths. He is a leader that's is extremely cunning and intelligent. Which is one trait that makes him such a great leader. Odysseus said “ me only she permits these strains to hear” (Homer). Which means that Odysseus was given the choice to either be tied up or put wax in his ears. Being the leader that he was he trusted his crew to tie him up and keep him alive. This is why Odysseus is such a good captain, because he has trust in his men and he knows that his men are loyal. Odysseus’s strengths aren't portrayed by just being strong he shows strengths in his actions and choices. Odysseus fought in the Trojan war. He was brave and had an amazing strategy to win the war by hiding in plain site. Odysseus has many strengths but also he has a lot of weaknesses.

He makes bad choices and is easily tempted by the sirens. Odysseus told his crew that if he gets tempted by the sirens to tie him to the masses and when he asked to get out he asked them to put more rope on him. He tried not to be tempted by the sirens but their song is just to beautiful for him to overcome. He screams and ask his crew to let him go but they can't hear him because he put wax in their ears before they got to the Island. Although Odysseus has many weakness he also has a lot of conflicts.
Lastly, Odysseus suffers many conflicts throughout his journey. One conflict he deals with is the separation from his family. Another is the sirens, he has to get through them without any deaths. Odysseus also struggles with trying to get his men back on the boat so they can leave to head home.
