Sophocles “One who knows how to show and to accept kindness will be a friend better than any possession.”(Sophocles quotes) A wise quote given by a wise man. Sophocles, a man who grew up in the area of philosophy and art, was a great and noble man. Although not much is known about his earlier life, some facts and anecdotes remain. His works and writings have lived far beyond him and although details of his life are lost to time, he remains lives on through his plays. Sophocles’ life style and experiences shaped his writing, such as being in ancient greece, his his social status and his work within the community. Ancient Greece is very different than present day america and just as ours their culture shapes its people.
