It describes how species have transformed over time through natural selection, genetic variation, and different processes. However, many Christians have struggled to accommodate the theory of evolution with traditional Christian faith, particularly concerning the origin of sin and the role of humanity. In this paper, applying notes from recognized scholars, we argue that the theory …show more content…

Chance refers to the idea that the processes of evolution, such as genetic mutations and natural selection, occur randomly and without any predetermined purpose or goal. On the other hand, design refers to the idea that life on Earth was intentionally created by God, specifically creating humans in His image with the goal of us entering relationship with Him. One way we have seen scholars reconcile the theory of evolution and traditional Christian theology is by viewing chance and design as complementary elements in God's creation. We then explored the role that chance and design play in evolution and argued that these two elements are not mutually exclusive. While evolution is driven by random mutations and natural selection, these processes occur within a larger framework of order and design that points to the work of a Creator. We also discussed the concept of providence, which suggests that God can work through natural processes like evolution to accomplish His
