Of Mice & Men When we read books, we could picture the story in our head. As for movies, we see the picture and find out what the story is about. There are some similarities between movies and books. For instance, there's a conflict and a resolution for both movies and books. Famous teen books are written by authors and then produced into movies. Divergent, written by Veronica Roth, was at first a novel. It was then produced into a movie by the same title, starring actors Shailene Woodley and Theo James. Of Mice and Men is written by John Steinbeck. The story takes place during The Great Depression. The tale is about two men named Lennie Small and George Milton, two ranch workers who migrate. As in the movie we achieve more of a closer characters look into the relationships. In the 1939 version, Lennie stutters a bit more. He also looks a little bit brighter than the way John Malkovich portrayed him. In the 1992 version, he is very slow. He speaks like a three-year-old. He also has a dumb look on his face. In the old version, George tends to be very serious also speaks about his dream. On the other hand, in the other version, he seems a bit more protective and talks about many dreams. When it comes to playing Curley's wife, it seemed a bit dramatic between the two. Both actresses Sherilyn Fenn and Helen Lynd, are terrific. It was just when they both talked about how they were asked to be an actor, they both seemed a bit different. In the 1939 version, Curley's wife smiles and is sitting down when telling Lennie about her dream. In the 1992 version, she is walking around or leaning on a pole. They both die in the end as Lennie breaks their neck. Another things is how dramatic Curley breaks his hand. In the 1939 version, Lennie squeezes his hand. But in the 1992
