Life is a surprise road trip. You don’t know where you are going, but if you keep driving you will eventually get to the place you want. The book Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss is a children's book that was originally written for a high school graduation. The book is about life's journey and how along the way you will have to make decisions that might be no brainers, but also could be very difficult. It also talks about how life is going to throw you curveballs that could be very devastating, but the key is to never to give up. If there is a bump in the road, jump it, if there is a gate in your way, climb it, if there is a fist in your way, doge it. Never giving up is an important mindset to have because if you work hard for what you want you will get it and achieve even more than you could imagine. When Dr. Seuss writes,” I'm sorry to say so but, sadly, it's true that Bang-ups and Hang-up can happen to you”(Seuss). He telling the audience that bad things in life are going to happen to you and there is nothing you can do besides get over it or fight for what you want, but you are going to have to make that decision on your own. It also hints that you shouldn't just give up just because something bad happens you have to just never give up and move along with your life. In the short story, “flowers to Algernon” written by Daniel Keyes, Charlie Gordon is back at work and everybody wants him fired because of his smarts. “all the rest demanded I be fired”(Keyes 127). People in life are always going to bring you down. Sometimes even you will bring yourself down at times, but you have to stay up and proud. I have already had to deal with people or even things that bring me down but the most important thing is to get right back
