On 20th September, 2014, the United Nation Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson made a speech at a special event for the “He For She” Campaign, in New York, the United Nations Headquarters. It is easy to get the literal meaning of this campaign. “The movement for gender equality was originally conceived as a struggle led only by women for women”. Obviously, men are wanted to lead this struggle (heforshe.org). However, if people do not know the importance of men’s attendance to this campaign, it will be meaningless. If that were true, this campaign needs to change its name for “People For She”. People cannot help questioning its real meaning. What is it? This is a movement about feminism. “As a playwright of some note in France at the time of the Revolution, Olympe de Gouges spoke for not only herself but many of the women of France, when in 1791 she wrote and published the ‘Declaration of the Rights of Woman and of the Citizen’ ” (womenshistory.about.com). In the Declaration, Olympe de Gouges stated: “A woman has the right to be guillotined; she should also have the right to debate” (Gouges). Modeled on the 1789 "Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen" by the National Assembly, de Gouges' Declaration echoed the same language and extended it to women (womenshistory.about.com). We cannot forget her, Olympe de Gouges, the first person to give us the first declaration of feminism. Another big success in feminism movements is the celebration of International Women’s Day. It is celebrated each year on March 8. People around the world use the day to recognize the progress of women. “They also use it to call attention to the social, political and economic issues facing women and girls” (International women’s day). The United Nations marked the event in 1907 by calling attention to the problem of gender based violence. If people want to get victories in feminism campaign, to insist on the basic sense of feminism is a must. All these successful movements have proved
