The sound of needles rapidly pouring ink into teenager’s skin, as they screamed in pain made me think hard and long about what tattoo I was going to choose. I’ve made up my mind for a while because I saw a picture that my friend drew and I knew that that would be my first tattoo. It is of a beautiful woman wearing a kimono holding a fan over her face but on the fan is a demon. This tattoo is representing the side of me that grew up in Sacramento. Most of my friends in Sacramento are of Asian descent, I wanted to get it on my back so it represents that past so I’ll never forget. Tattoos have become a form of expressing culture, art, personal experiences, God, and many other creative concepts. In this day and age parents are getting worried about what a tattoo could affect their children’s future; although what they don’t know is that tattoos have become substantially more common in our society while the parents of these adolescents are from a time where tattoos are not as accepted. Getting peer pressured into getting a tattoo could have you regretting your decision later. Doing so gets rid of the sentimental value of tattoos. This is why it is very important to put great thought into what tattoos you decide to get because they will be there for the rest of your life. People get tattoos because they can represent anything and everything that a person has been through or just some cool artwork.
