In his 1843 essay “On the Jewish Question,” Karl Marx presents a critical response to a series of arguments asserted by Bruno Bauer. In his essay, “The Jewish Question,” Bauer discusses the unfortunate and inequitable circumstances of Jews in 19th century Prussia, Germany. At this time, Prussia is a largely organized Christian state. Consequently, Judaism and Jewish people are repressed.
