A novel called ‘Once’ by Morris Gleitzman (2005), is about a heart-breaking story about a boy, named Felix. On his way, he gets a bright understanding about what is revolving around him. He has to endure during World War 2, about the discrimination of Jews. The statement, “Relationship bonds encourages Felix to pull through the Holocaust,” is precisely veracious. Barney, known as Felix’s friend and caretaker, claimed something that made Felix resilient throughout his journey. The friendship between Felix and Zelda was so strong, that Zelda, who wore the locket and made her safe, had to bit the Nazi’s arm to not get separated. The last chapter, Chaya claimed trust from Felix, in order to escape. Barney, known as a great friend of his, have protected ever since he saved Felix from a Nazi soldier. Ever since then, Felix has reminisced and got influenced with Barney’s words, easily. Barney stated that, “Everybody deserves to have something good in their life at least once. Zelda has been wearing a locket that contains a picture of her parents which are Nazis. When Felix was upset about the real truth about the Holocaust, Zelda helped him by giving him her locket. There was a scene where he nearly got killed by a Nazi soldier but he saw the locket, which changed his mind. This tells us that the locket had protected Zelda from the burning house. “I feel her put something round my neck. It’s her silver chain with the little heart on it. ‘This is to make you feel better’” Zelda could’ve died in the burning house, but due to the locket, the soldiers didn’t finish her off. “Then I notice that the little girl isn’t bleeding.
