In Adam Bagdasarian’s historical novel Forgotten Fire, the characters are deprived of their Human rights as they experience various examples of Dehumanization; stage of genocide. In chapter 7 of Forgotten Fire, Vahan, and his family are taken to a building called “Goryan’s inn” that is filthy and has a horrid smell due to the many bodies that were kept in the building. As Vahan and his family pray for water, Vahan hears a man in the back say, “Why don't they kill us now” (Bagdasarian 45). People would argue that this man has these thoughts of being murdered by the Turks due to dehumanization. Because they are kept in morbid places with extreme humidity and horrible stench, as a result of being Armenian they are given no water and little to no food.

In Osawatomie, Kansas on August 31, 1910, President Theodore Roosevelt gave his Conservation As A National Duty Speech. Roosevelt gave this speech to consider the question of the conservation and use of the great fundamental sources of wealth of this Nation. This is the first time in the Untied States’ history the chief executive officers of the States separately, and of the States together forming the Nation, have met to consider this. With the governors come men from each State chosen for their special acquaintance with the terms of the problem that is before us. After the Holocaust, people started caring about what happened, teaching teens, and trying to prevent it from happening again. The quote from The Lorax also teaches us that a person can make a difference, but only if they work hard and have a lot of passion to make a difference. Another lesson Dr. Seuss wanted to teach his readers is to “not worry . . . just go along” (Bright Drops). This one of a kind quote that means when people are going through tough times; they should not stress out instead just go with the flow.

In the book the author, show the technology and world conditions of today to what might be there logical extent in the future. The author represents a world with corporations that rule the world in the same way as the internet. A world that is polluted and dying yet no one fully knows enough to care; almost identical to our world.
The book explains the destruction of the environment simply for the dollar value of the products in produces. The book attacks the login industry specifically, but the message carries on to every company that destroys the planet. In typical Dr. Seuss fashion it flows really well and makes for a fun simple read that anyone can understand, the youngest may not get the message at first but after a few times they will. The best part of this book is the fact that it does teach a lesson, it is aimed at elementary children or younger which is the best time for such a message. If you teach the children the story, and the lesson in The Lorax then they are sure to teach others, and soon that lesson becomes second nature.
