The percentage of abortions that deal with rape, incest, and the life of the mother only add up to .43% of reasons given why mothers have an abortion. 98% of abortions are because the mother is too young or immature, economic status, ¨enough children already¨, single mother or poor, and sex selection.1 In the most extreme of situations like the .43% I believe abortion should be a highly not advised but legal option. Another argument is that the original Hippocratic Oath mentions abortion. ¨I will not give a woman a pessary to cause an abortion.¨ The new Hippocratic Oath effectively says no abortions either.
