Do you guys know Tim Tebow or Cher? What about Nick Cannon, Justin Bieber, Jack Nicholson, or Celine Dion? They all have one thing in common. They were all almost aborted. Imagine a world without some of these people. The world wouldn’t be the same.
The percentage of abortions that deal with rape, incest, and the life of the mother only add up to .43% of reasons given why mothers have an abortion. 98% of abortions are because the mother is too young or immature, economic status, ¨enough children already¨, single mother or poor, and sex selection.1 In the most extreme of situations like the .43% I believe abortion should be a highly not advised but legal option. Another argument is that the original Hippocratic Oath mentions abortion. ¨I will not give a woman a pessary to cause an abortion.¨ The new Hippocratic Oath effectively says no abortions either. First do no harm to others then it also says ¨Above all, I must not play at God.¨2 I would like to go back to my opening statement because I have one more person who was almost aborted.
