Have you ever considered exactly what freedom cost? From a song I’m sure we have all heard. “Where were you when the world stop turning on that September Day?” The lives of young men and women that were lost during 9/11 and the deaths form the war. Not only lives but inflation on daily lives as Americans, the money spent on surplus, goods and items such as ammunition. Winston Churchill once said, “We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.” American was not going to tolerate the threat of terrorism. We talked about all sorts of things such as basic training in Fort Louis, Washington, thoughts he had during war. He opened up about how he felt and thoughts he had about being in Afghanistan. It was very unique experience getting to hear a first-hand account of being in war, and what life was like being in a war-zone where people were wanting to kill you. He shared stories of how he had to witness friends, platoon members, and fellow soldiers loose there life, limbs and their mind due to war. Zach Davis was a Specialist in the Unites States Army and spent his tour being an Infantryman going from door to door looking for the threat of terror. It was very moving seeing a grown man express emotions of sadness while telling stories of having to help/ease his friends in their last seconds of life. He will never forget what he had to sacrifice so we could do what we do on a daily basis.
