Most facilities use Methadone as an agonist in Opiate detoxification. However others like Clinics under the CRC umbrella use Buprenorphine in Opiate detoxification. This formula is less intense that the Methadone one as it requires less visits to the doctor, less supervision and can be taken at home. In addition it is easy to join a Buprenorphine program as patients do not have to apply like in the case of Methadone programs which have long waiting lists and are more intense. of treatment for most patients.
