As a young scholar, I know the adrenaline rush feeling when recieving final exam grades that can determine our weekend. When most persons experience the feeling of an unsatisfactory grade, they tend to be distressed and bitter, blaming everyone and everything other than themselves. Contrariwise, some students optimistically better themselves and plan to be greater in the near future. An influential Spanish teacher, role model and leader named Señora Denise Ali-Gibson once said “You cannot be upset by the results you did not get, from the work you did not do”. This astounding quote has inspired others and myself not to bitter ourselves on what we thought we knew, but to better ourselves on what is to be known. “Every coin has two sides”, so as to bettering or bittering ourselves based on the result of an experience, it is a flip of a coin in life. In reference to death, the experience in losing a beloved person permits bitterness to be drawn deeply within us, surrounding us in a depressing atmosphere that takes healing time to get better.
