SOUTH AFRICA: CHARLIZE THERON Charlize Theron is a well-known actress born in rural Benoni, South Africa, on August 7, 1975. She is best-known for her roles in movies such as “Monster” and “Mad Max”. The Afrikaans-speaking family lived on a working farm, and although Theron spent her childhood tending livestock, her passion for dance became evident early on. She then moved to America when she was 18, to pursue a career in modelling and acting. Thereafter Oprah was raised by her grandmother, who instilled in her the values of morality and God at a young age.
