Oprah Winfrey is a nationally known television talk show host and many know her as one of the most powerful women in the world. “Oprah Winfrey was named one of the most “100 Influential People of the 20th Century” by Time magazine, and in 1998 received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences” (“Oprah Winfrey Biography”). Oprah has partnered with Target and Child Abuse Prevention Association to raise awareness for sexual assault on children. Oprah is going to donate 1,000 t-shirts to target for distribution. In order to raise awareness for this cause, t-shirts will have the logo “Stop Child Abuse” printed across the front. These t-shirts will be made available in Target stores nationwide. Oprah was then sent to live with her grandmother until she was 6 years old. Oprah’s biological mother lived approximately 12 hours away from her grandmother in Milwaukee, WI. Oprah went to live with her mother at the age six. Once her mother found a job, she spent many days and nights away from the home.
