Oprah Winfrey is a household name across the world thanks to her popular talk show “Oprah Winfrey Show”. Born on January 29, 1954, in Kosciusko, a small farming village in Mississippi, Oprah would not have thought that a young black girl could grow to be a world influencer leave alone a successful talk show host. However, she discovered she was a talented orator at a very tender age. She used her talent in her local church by sharing the world of the lord with the congregants. Her determination to succeed became evident when she won a full scholarship to Tennessee State University and graduated in 1973. This was the beginning of her television carrier. Drawing a common lesson from every story: No matter what story was shared on her show, Oprah made sure to extract a point or two that every person could relate to. This gave a mutual feeling of sameness even though they appeared different. There was always something for everyone in every story shared. 6. Through her show, she nurtured many to leadership and successful carriers. Many artist and celebrities used her show as a platform for reaching out to the world. 7. Celebrating differences: Oprah was good at using human differences to make the world a better place. She spread the word that you do not have to look like everyone else. You are beautiful and unique just as you are. She taught her audience that it is in the human difference that we have diversity and diversity makes human race successful. 8. By sharing personal experiences, Oprah inspired trust and confidence in her listeners. Her viewers identified with her and felt she was just as human as they were.
