The reason why I pick Oprah Winfrey for my individual is because she is a successful African American women that makes a different in people life. Oprah believes that every young female to women can be successful. She don’t believe that any women should deal with abusive relationship. Even doe Oprah had got rape at a young age and pregnant, she still push through and became successful. She let where she came from and what she been through be her motivation. Oprah inspire many African Americans in different way like; she gives back to the community, she shows us her to take power and be in control, she also have encouraging words to make young adults and adults to think about their life, and donate charity. Oprah grew up in Kosciusko, as a childhood that wasn’t far removed from the average South African. Oprah lived on a farm without indoor plumbing and watched her grandmother, who raised her. At the age of nine she was raped by her cousin. Oprah gave birth to her son at the age of fourteen. Oprah son died after childbirth. Her way out of South Africa came in a form of a federal program. The federal program gained Oprah access to a rich suburban school, where she was one of only a handful of African-Americans. Each day Oprah bounced between a home of poverty and a classroom of possibilities. Oprah discovered a knack for public speaking and debate, which earned her a part-time radio gig. Oprah had own a scholarship to go to Tennessee State University. Oprah had to deal with a sad irony she had to set up an unprecedented safety barrier in a country where more than a third of young women are sexually abused, with barbed wire fences, a high-tech entry system and all-female security.
