I was able to engage in the musical performance of The Bradenburg Concerto No. 2 writing by Johann Sebastian Bach. The conductor of the performance is John Butt. The Bradenburg Concerto No. 2 is one of the six concertos written by Bach. It is also the most popular one. This style of music was popular in the Baroque period. This orchestral genre is known as the concerto grosso. A concerto grosso uses two ensembles, one large and one small. The large one has an odd name called the ripieno. There is also a group that consists of soloists, which is the smaller group, and they are known as the concertino. The overall entertainment of the performance was extraordinary. It almost seemed perfect. There has to be a lot of practice, time, and talent put into something like this because of the expectation. The education that this performance displays is very interesting. There are so many things that you learn when you actually study a concert and write about it. They used a lot of different music terms during the Baroque era that I got to research on and learn more about. By doing this I was able to interpret the quality of the concert better. I believe that an audience would have been astounded by the result of this performance. There was not really a favorite part for me, because I like hearing all the different instruments combine together to create something worth hearing. I guess being in the world we live in today, the part I liked least was the fact that there was no consistent word flow throughout the whole song. In my opinion, I feel like most people would enjoy this type of performance because it’s so elegant and clean.
