The main plot line in the movie is about an unpopular awkward teenager names Napoleon Dynamite. He lives with his grandmother and older brother in a small town. The movie follows Napoleon navigating being a teenager, the ups and downs of high school, and various obstacles. He helps his friend Pedro and tries to win over his crush, Deb.
The characters are involved in the plot line by Napoleon who is the protagonist and main character. The movie follows his life and the struggles he has to overcome. Uncle Rico is lazy and unreliable, making him a burden instead of helpful. His schemes of trying to get rich make things worse, and his taking over Kip's room plus distributing his chats with his girlfriend adds to the annoyance. Although Uncle Rico tries to be a part of the boys' lives.
