Organ Donation Persuasive Essay

Have you ever thought about how one decision can change many lives? Organ donation after death is a life changing decision for many people, not just yourself. Although there is a problem with people not donating their organs to others in need, there is a solution. We could try to convince people to donate their organs, which will lead to positive effects of the donation.

First off, let's discuss why people don't donate their organs. Believe it or not, some don't trust doctors from personal experience or they believe that if the doctor knows they're a donor, they won't do everything they can to save them. Also, some people are nervous to think about their own death while they're healthy. They choose not to donate because of TV shows too.

Another reason people should donate their organs, is because you never know, a family member of yours could end up on the waiting list. By donating your organs, you could potentially be the one to save their lives. Also, you can give someone the ability to move. Tissue donation can give someone the tendons, ligaments, bones, and other soft connective tissue they need that allows them to walk, run, dance, and even skip again. There are many positive aspects of living organ donation. For instance, the quality of life. Donating your organs greatly improves recipients’ health and quality of life. Meaning they can return to normal everyday activities like spending more time with family and friends, being physically active, and pursuing their interests. Also, whoever is lucky enough to receive your organ has a shorter waiting time, by skipping the waiting list and going right into the OR. The outcome of living organ donation has better results; the organs from living donors have greater longevity than those from deceased donors. It also could lessen the risk of rejection. Kidneys and livers function immediately from living donation, rather than from the deceased. Positive effects for the living donor include positive emotional experiences. As for the recipient and donor, surgery can be scheduled for a time that works out best for them. Also, the donation removes a candidate from the list. People on the waiting list who can't find a living donor have a better chance of life from a deceased donor. There are also effects on the donor too. For kidney donors, the usual recovery time after the surgery is short, and donors can generally resume to their
