Dimensions of Oshkosh Truck Corporation

Our group selected Oshkosh Truck Corporation, because they are a multinational heavy equipment manufacture. With operations in eight U.S. states and with operations in six countries Oshkosh Corporation has manufactured heavy equipment for nearly 98 years. As a manufacturer of Specialty Vehicles, Truck Bodies for primary defense markets, concrete, refuse, access equipment and fire & emergency vehicles, primarily done though its contract manufacturing services. One of the primary elements that places Oshkosh Corporation apart their competitors in this industry is the ability to focus on the partnerships with their customers, and to deliver custom manufactured, design specifications to their customers. One of the first things you will learn about Oshkosh is their ability to leverage resources, along with understanding their capabilities. With revenues directly tied to its defense contracts, which provides the largest source of revenue, it is extremely important for them to leverage the needed resources capable of meeting their daily operational needs. This means understanding tangible resources, and capabilities, in addition to both tangible and intangible assets. A firm may use these assets to calculate, implement or leverage its strategic operations and typically may use these are assets to add additional value to stockholder equity. (Ph.D., 2011)
